Class trip to Stuttgart

Being one of Germany's automotive super hubs, Stuttgart has grown into an ever more popular destination for our guests. It is the best place for all engineering affiliates as the region offers Porsche, Mercedes, Hockenheimring race course or Technik Museum in nearby Speyer. To counterbalance all those action-packed activities, you may always opt for trips to ancient castles and ramble through beautifully restored, medieval town centres of Baden-Würtemberg. In particular, we can recommend trips to Heidelberg, Karlsruhe or Tübingen.

In the morning:

Your journey begins with a guided tour of the capital of the Federal State Baden-Württemberg. The most popular method for this activity is boarding a hop-on-hop-off bus. While on the tour you will see the city centre, pass by Neckar river, Botanic Garden Wilhelma and Mercedes Benz Museum. The bus will also take you to Stuttgart's vineyards.

In the afternoon:

During the afternoon, you will head to Stuttgart Television Tower. From the top of the tower you have a fantastic view over the city.

Day 2 - Mercedes Benz

In the morning:

You will start your day with a guided tour at House of history, where you will find out all about the history of Baden-Württemberg. The museum offers a number of specialised guided tours, ranging from topics such as immigration to/emigration from Baden Würtemberg, Franco-German relations or democracy for example.

The museum's permanent exhibition comprises 1500 exhibits, highlighting new and unconventional facts about the South-West of Germany.

In the afternoon:

After lunch we will take you for a visit at Mercedes Benz Museum. The museum covers about 16,500 square meters, presenting the world's very first car, sports cars, vintage cars and the legendary "Silberpfeil" racing cars.

Day 3 - Tübingen

Day trip:

Today you will get to know the pretty little university town of Tübingen. You will set out at the historic town centre, more precisely at the market square. There you will find Tübingen's town hall, which was built 500 years ago. Onward to the town's Botanic Garden where you can get a panorama view of the Swabian Alps and Hohenzollern mountain. Besides, one of the town's youngest district, the so-called "French Quarter" recently received the German urban planning award.

Every year from May until September you also have the opportunity to go punting on the Neckar river. These typical Tübingen boat trips start at Hölderlin Tower.

Day 4 - Porsche

In the morning:

Off to Porsche Museum! It is located in Zuffenhausen, not too far from Stuttgart, and showcases about 80 vehicles. The museum also presents the unique history of Porsche and inside the museum workshop you can observe the museum mechanics refurbish vintage Porsches.

In the afternoon:

Later that day you will head towards Ludwigsburg. One of the largest baroque castles in Europe is waiting for you there: Ludwigsburg Residence. It will take you on a journey to the ages of baroque and rococo. Several museums give insight into how people lived back then.

Day 5 - Heidelberg

In the morning:

Today you will travel to the world-famous university town of Heidelberg am Neckar. You will take part in a guided tour through the old town, market square (the so-called grains market which is very popular among tourists), the "Old Bridge" and the university campus. While on campus you will also be brought to “Studentenkarzer", this was a the room where, between 1778 and 1914, misbehaved students were sent for detention.

In the afternoon:

Later you will take the cable car to get to world-renowned Heidelberg Castle (well, in fact, the castle ruins).

Marvel at the "Heidelberg Tun" and visit the German Pharmacy Museum. During a guided tour you will learn why the castle attracts so many visitors each year.
